Culture with Comic Sans (Part II)

In the previous block of Culture with C Comic sans and we were talking about the presence of our beloved typeface disc reissues. Well, in the film, its use is multiplied by being an audiovisual medium.

As in the previous post mentioned, there are several editions of films featuring the Comic Sans as the protagonist, but in this case is not a version of "cheap" of 6 or 9 euros, but a special edition two discs. Let's play the game

differences:
not fixed in the language of the title and try to discern which DVD of " One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest " is the English version.
What sick mind it can happen to replace the original printing of a masterpiece?, How case could change the string section of a work of Beethoven a Casio organ ?

Does this seem outrageous?: For not content with changing the titles of the movies, right and left, changing fonts in movies by the producers is also quite common. And if you do not believe it, look at the following example.
... with relatively easy it is today locate one typeface (obviously the famous phrase Federico Trillo in the congress of deputies)!

This lack of interest or knowledge about typography, is what characterizes our next event: the poster commented several times and bullets Sin City. Arguably, since this is a comic book adapted movie version would be justified, but the lack of personality Comic sans for being up in the soup, remove much of the uniqueness they bring the aesthetic and the way it is shot the film. As discussed in the post of Noscope "the Curse of Comic Sans" , there are many other alternatives this hackneyed typography.
And end (the post, which examples are many) have left the most serious case in the history of cinema: Klimt, which graphically destroy the biography of a great painter providing credit to our beloved titles typography. Sorry to inform you that I can not comment further on the horror that I see these screens produce .

leave but I'll feel vomiting until the next post.

Mosin Nagant Blueprints

For the wide world (I)

We can have some idea of \u200b\u200bthe controversy produced by our "beloved" biting the typography Links Site of OCACSMS , but not if they are aware that this is actually the tip of iceberg .

Behind these few associations there is a groundswell of people connected to the world and the advertising and design that makes its own claim products as creative Genre has come to produce a film with a laugh and call it "underground "Comic sans on .

from Comic Sans Genre Creative on Vimeo .

is so developed and worked to give than to think that it is the only existing film ... and enstán right. Surfing the Internet can come to find the announcement of the early appearance of a f ilm documentary about Comic Sans , and, as extravagant as funny film in which Times , Arial Comic Sans and tell you it's time you go by using other fonts.

John Stossel of ABC News in one of its bulletins explaining the three most common design errors between the U.S. and guess who was the number one mistake?. "Never use this typeface" said John Stossel referring to our typography.

On the other hand, in a post 2006, it was a ranking of the seven worst fonts entitled "America's Most Fonte: The 7 Worst Fonts " in which a fun comparison was made famous by imagining what could use each of the types of ranking.
(Beat) And at number one .... Comic sans! awarding its use Elizabeth Hasselbeck, which tell you the truth I have no idea who he is because I'm not quite place in the world of "celebrity." It is worth taking a visazo to laugh a little because guys like displayed Papirus (nice deserves another blog) and people like Brad Pitt or Britney Spears.

Finally, a fun way to pass the time because unfortunately the people who read this need not read and people I really would never need to read.

olive oil in Spain, or how to fight your own institutions with C

guess ecomomías all know that the capitalists are cyclical because well, here in Spain, we have been dormant until recent years with the design theme in certain sectors. Economic stage was very good and we say that ... there are certain areas in Spain that particular idiosyncrasies are too traditional or conservative among them are such as wine and oil (this case).

These sectors, thanks to economic boom times, only have been forced to seek advertising campaigns and packaging changes by the pull of the design of such products Argentina, Chile, New Zealand , California or Italy, as among some English producers there is the strange idea that a good product sells itself (until they realize they are losing market share) .
Well, after finally deciding oil manufacturers improve their product quality controls, expand market, leaving the cooperative to sell the people and improve their image by going to professional advertising, design and marketing, comes the English authorities and they play tricks.

The lords of the administration seems to still not know that not only helps the sector subsidies, but also providing a quality image at the same . Following this intro I can only say: No, no, no, bad boy!. There are published reports of olive oil Comic sans!.
And you say: Nooooo, can not be. It is a photo editor! . Here is the link where you can download the same PDF that my eyes had the misfortune to see.

Click here to see the absurdity.

If gentlemen, sad but true. Today, oil producers and marketers English squeeze their pockets to put your image in the hands of agencies that make them earn a minimum percentage of share market. There English companies with a design so laudable and generous as See or La Amarilla de Ronda , we move to an art gallery by simply strolling through the aisles in which are exposed to their products, and that reports of olive oil Ministry of Agriculture are published in Comic sans doing them a disservice to the image that may lead to potential distributors .
One way to justify this fact could be that Comic sans is an organic, almost drops binding ... ummmm .... could be. Could it be that in a short word ... the game drops ... paragraphs ... But no, for God's sake.

But also, is no waste, have managed to take time to decide which titles and subtitles be in a different typeface than the paragraph text. At that point they ran out of neurons. Have decided to type legible ( Arial) for titles and Comic sans laaaaaaaaargos in economic paragraphs for easier reading I guess. I imagine to be decided that the content is thick, put it in a sort "sympathetic" to do a little reading enjoyable and thus, if a foreign distributor decides to consider import English olive oil, the final document look unserious and chose NO.

gentlemen Finally, another achievement of the English administration officials that the subsidies that they give you, picture what you removed.
